PRIMAVERA Opens Branch in Dubai

An investment of around half a million euros and an initial team of 5 team members marks the beginning of the company’s activities in the region.

The Portuguese technology company PRIMAVERA BSS has just announced that it is currently investing around half a million euros in opening a branch in Dubai. PRIMAVERA, which already has branches in Spain, Angola, Mozambique and Cape Verde, provides continuity to its strategy of expansion to new markets, with the inauguration of PRIMAVERA UAE (United Arab Emirates) in May this year.

"PRIMAVERA continues to fulfil its project of expansion”, says José Dionísio, Co-founder and Co-CEO of PRIMAVERA BSS. "After studying the sales potential of the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in general and of the United Arab Emirates in particular, and realizing that our product portfolio could be adapted to these markets with relative ease, we decided to go ahead with the inauguration of a branch in Dubai”.

In three years, the objective is to acquire 30 partners and 200 clients

With an initial team of five team members, who will be supported by a network of local partners, during this first phase PRIMAVERA will direct its portfolio of management solutions towards the segment of mid-sized and large companies, with the provision of the PRIMAVERA Executive and PRIMAVERA Professional business management software (ERP).

Currently with two local partners and a few ongoing implementation projects, within the next three years PRIMAVERA hopes to achieve a turnover of more than one million euros, approximately 30 partners and over 200 clients.

PRIMAVERA hopes to become the technology partner of choice for national companies operating in the region.

"The market analysis that we performed throughout 2013 enabled us to establish our first partnerships and consolidate our first business deals,” adds the Co-CEO of PRIMAVERA BSS. "These victories, coupled with the fact that we’re talking about one of the markets with the greatest potential for growth and investment in the world, were decisive for our decision to invest in the Middle Eastern markets based in Dubai”.

Jorge Marques, one of the most experienced PRIMAVERA executives, will be the Country Manager of PRIMAVERA UAE, and his objectives will include making PRIMAVERA the technology partner of choice for both Portuguese companies operating in the United Arab Emirates and for current client companies wishing to expand their business to this market, in a similar fashion to what has transpired in the other external markets where the company does business.

According to the Country Manager of PRIMAVERA UAE, "PRIMAVERA is aware of the inherent risks of investing in a distant market with a business culture that is very different from the Western one. However, we believe in the success of this investment, because the fact is we haven’t detected any relevant reason to relinquish this objective”.
