PRIMAVERA promotes skills development for the unemployed in Lisbon and the Tagus Valley

Protocol with the IEFP aims to develop new vocational skills to foster entry to the labour market

A protocol between PRIMAVERA BSS and the Portuguese Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP) aims to develop skills and new vocational competences with a view to fostering employment opportunities. Under the protocol, PRIMAVERA BSS will provide software to support the practical component of the training courses in the fields of Management, Accounting, Business Science and Management Information Systems, taught at the nine Vocational Training Centres in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley area: Alcoitão, Amadora, Lisbon, Médio Tejo, Santarém, Seixal, Setúbal, Sintra and Vila Franca de Xira. 
Thanks to this partnership, the nine Training Centres, which encompass around 50 municipalities and provide training for some 122,000 unemployed people every year, will now have a practical component that will enable attendees to develop their skills in the use of management tools in the fields of Logistics and Treasury, Accounting, Human Resources and Point of Sale (POS). The company will also be providing training for the instructors who will be teaching the courses, with a practical component on the use of software in the workplace, technical support for the solutions at no cost and an interactive experience at the company's head office.

"This partnership is of huge importance to us, in particular for the IEFP's Lisbon and Tagus Valley Vocational Training Division, because of the impact it will have on the modernisation of our services and the quality of the vocational training that it will allow us to provide. The outcome can only be positive in terms of new qualifications for the young people and adults we train. This will greatly facilitate their entry to the labour market," affirms Vitor Gil, IEFP Regional Delegate for Lisbon and the Tagus Valley.

José Dionísio, Joint CEO of PRIMAVERA stresses, "Over the years, we have seen an increase in the employability of students who follow the PRIMAVERA Education programme, a project of which this protocol with the IEFP is part. These positive results have fostered the constant expansion of the network of participating institutions and we believe that this partnership will allow us to make a further contribution towards placing qualified human resources in the employment market." 
The PRIMAVERA Education project was launched in 1993 with the aim of providing students in the fields of Economy, Management, Accounting, Taxation and Computing with a better preparation for the reality of the workplace, through the use of PRIMAVERA's management software. Over 500 teaching establishments in Portugal, Angola, Cape Verde and Mozambique are involved in the project, which culminates with a study trip to PRIMAVERA's facilities. An average of 2,000 visits take place annually.
